EAST LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

LONDON'S STUDENT ORCHESTRA

Welcome to East London Symphony Orchesta (ELSO), a new collaborative project between students of varying ages. Founded in 2017 by young conductors Jamie Conway and Zoë Kundu, ELSO consists of some of the best young musicians living and learning in London and the surrounds. It is an ensemble in which the players, soloists and conductors all learn from and respond to one another. It's make up of conservatoire and university students provides a quality and rawness of musicianship that few modern ensembles achieve.

Wyatt Sinfonia to join ELSO in Sibelius Violin Concerto

The summer concert will take place at 7pm on Thursday 30th August at St John of Jerusalem Church, Hackney, and will see the new Wyatt Sinfonia joining forces with ELSO. Our kind supporter Petar Velnić has enabled a rare performance of female Croatian composer Dora Pejačević's Symphony in F sharp minor, conducted by Zoë Kundu. ELSO's new commission Lago for solo clarinet, harp and strings will be premiered by University of Cambride student Samuel Huston and Charles Westhoff will perform Sibelius' Violin Concerto, conducted by Jamie Conway.
